The ARVANTEO Double Rider

The double rider as it was first made: heavyweight steerhide, a wide belted waist, snap-down lapels and a coin pocket under the left lapel. At 1.4 mm the hide is stiff on day one and moulds to the wearer over the first season, which is the whole point of the piece. Shorter in the body than our Classic Biker and squarer in the shoulder.

Where the Classic Biker is the version to wear to dinner, the Double Rider is the version to wear on the bike it was named for. Nothing on it is decorative: the belt closes the waist against wind, the zipped cuffs go over gloves, and the lapels snap flat or fold up and close at the throat.

Leather has very little give, so the fit you buy is the fit you keep. If you are between sizes, check the shoulder measurement first — it is the one measurement that cannot be altered.

Store on a wide hanger away from direct heat and sunlight. Wipe clean with a dry cloth; treat with a leather conditioner once or twice a year. Never machine wash or tumble dry. For deep cleaning, use a specialist leather cleaner.
